YEOVIL Town striker Dean Bowditch has admitted that his return to action on Saturday could not have been scripted any better.
Bowditch had been sidelined by a serious shoulder injury since the opening day of the season, but he came off the bench on Saturday and within minutes had scored to give Yeovil a 1-0 victory over Southend United at Huish Park in the Coca-Cola League One.
And Bowditch, speaking to the BBC, said: "It was a perfect way to return.
"Andy Lindegaard said to me at half-time, that the script was written for me. At the time, you don't think about it, and you just want to get on the pitch.
"To be fair, the first two or three touches I had were poor. I kept giving the ball away, so I was thinking oh no!
"I had to get my head back in the game, and I was just in the right place at the right time. Ironically, it came off my bad shoulder."
