SHEPTON Beauchamp Primary School have enjoyed several sporting successes recently, including gaining a spot in the Boccia county final in February 2018.

Shepton brought three teams to the county qualifier at Westfield Academy to face teams from across south Somerset.

Their A team faced tough opposition in Group A, and finished fourth on points difference – the teams in third, fourth and fifth all ending with 19 points.

The B and C teams played in Group B, and the Bs finished third to claim a spot at the county final.

The school also took part in a cross country running event for Year 3 and 4 pupils at Maiden Beech Academy, where they came up against Greenfylde, St Barts, Ashlands, Misterton, Haselbury Plucknett and St Mary & St Peter’s (SMSP).

The team results saw Shepton’s Year 3 boys finish third, the Year 3 girls third, and the Year 4 girls second.

Among the individual results, there was a brilliant first place for Eddie, third for Freddie, fifth for Mollie, sixth for Jack, sixth for Faye and eighth for Harry.

The school also held its third annual Inter-House Cross Country competition at the end of last month, at Shepton Beauchamp Recreation Ground.

Freddie won the KS2 race, Jack the KS1 and Joe the Reception event. 
Red Worthy took 24 points, Dabinett 13 and Merchant eight.
