ON a wet Monday morning, the Cricket St Thomas Senior Section met up with the Ladies’ Section in the annual Christmas Cracker Salver competition.

June Hutchins marshalled her team to an early lead with a respectable 68 points, one better than Ruth Jones’ trio.

However, Jan Warner-Booth led her team of Mike Home and Bert Robinson to victory with 70.

A total of £170 had been raised for the two charities.

In crisp conditions on Wednesday, 30 seniors entered a three-man all-to-score stableford competition.

Scoring proved to be difficult with the exception of one team who managed to outscore their nearest rivals by 12 points.

Fifty-three seniors entered the second Turkey Trot competition on Friday.

An exciting finish in Division 1 saw a three-way tie, with Martin Bargery edging out James Siabi and Phil Dewar.

In Division 2, the runaway winner was Iain Rowland, who put his victory down to a recent lesson with assistant professional, Aaron Crabbe.
