CHARD Town will be without skipper Taoufik Ben Salem for their tough away fixture at promotion-chasing Cheddar in the First Division of the Toolstation Western League on Saturday (ko 3pm).

He is serving the first of a two-match ban for collecting 10 bookings.
Chard manager Paul Down is also without unavailable defender Shaun Wells-Burr, while midfielder Matt Howell is a doubt with a calf injury.

However, central defenders Kieran Bailey and Andy Homes, together with attacker Max Westlake, are all fit to return.

Striker Steve Friend trained well this week and will be in contention for a starting spot, with Dave Duarte also available.

Fourth-placed Cheddar hold games in hand over some of the teams above them, and have three former Chard men in their ranks – Mark Armstrong, Sam King and Craig Mawford.

CHARD Town are seeking a reserve team manager in preparation for restarting a reserve team next season.

This is with a view to bringing on local young players and working in conjunction with the first team manager.
