CHARD start a run of three successive league away games with a trip to much-improved Oldland Abbotonians tomorrow (ko 3pm).
Last October Chard beat Oldland 3-0 at Zembard Lane but recently the Bristol side have won at promotion-chasing Keynsham and drawn at Wellington.
Chard won twice in four days last week, but have left manager Paul Down with a defensive headache.
Central defenders Kieran Bailey (hamstring) and Andy Holmes (ankle) were injured versus Axminster, and Shaun Wells-Burr came off against Corsham with a back problem.
Taoufik Ben Salem has a hamstring issue, and Max Westlake is still not fit.
Dave Duarte also may have to work on Saturday, but Pat Golden and Steve Friend should both be back.
Down said: “It will be difficult with a patched up defence against Oldland, but I’m encouraged by the form of 17-year-old Jack Dicker at centre-back, while 18-year-old Scott Jakeman scored in both games.
“New signing Jake Wolfe has done well and is pushing for a start this week.”
“Goalkeeper Jon Hill could not kick on Saturday and is a concern, with Stu Parris again on standby.”
