AFTER a two-week festive break league rugby starts again this coming Saturday for the Chard teams.
The 1st XV are at home to Bideford in South West 1 (kick-off 2.15pm).
Chard claimed their first two league victories of the season – against Newent and Okehampton – in the weeks leading up to Christmas, and the club would welcome a sizeable home support for the Bideford game as they continue their fight for survival.
Bideford won the reverse fixture 28-13 in September and currently sit fourth in the standings.
Chard are 13th in the table out of 14 teams, but sit level on 11 points with 12th-placed Kingsbridge.
The team management will also hope that the two-week break has allowed some of the players, including skipper Ryan Helliar, to regain their fitness.

Also this Saturday, the 2nd XV are away to Morganians in Somerset 2 South, the game kicking off at 2pm.
Leaders Morganians have won 12 from 12 this campaign, but Chard pushed them close in September, Morgs escaping with a 26-20 win.
As for Chard 3rd XV, they are away to Wells 3rds in a rearranged fixture, that match also kicking off at 2pm.
The Somerset 3 South encounter sees fifth entertain third, with both teams having won four and lost four.
