THIRTY-EIGHT Senior golfers enjoyed the bright sunny conditions at Cricket St Thomas Golf Club on Monday and entered a 4Ball Better Ball competition.

Subsequent to the action on Friday, the Seniors held their AGM.

The captain, Nick Hill, thanked the members for their support over the year, and handed over the captaincy for 2017 to Roger Stone.

The new vice-captain will be Barrie Heath.

In conclusion, the retiring captain then stated that during the last 12 months of his captaincy, the Seniors group have run a series of events to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK, the last of which was a charity breakfast hosted by local solicitors Scott Rowe at the Cricket St Thomas Golf Club.

Scott Rowe invited members of local companies to the breakfast who generously added £280 to the £4,500 that had already been raised by the members during the year.
