ILMINSTER AA members headed to Isle Brewers and Redbridge for round eight of the Royal Oak winter league.
Gusty conditions made presentation awkward for some of the anglers but some excellent weights were still recorded.
Baz Morgan drew in-form peg 109 at Redbridge and had a nice net of mainly roach on the pole and maggots to win with 14lb 8oz.
Jamie Rich was second with another roach catch – he had 11lb 14oz from peg 125 at Isle Brewers.
Justin Charles struggled for most of the match but caught three big chub late on for 10lb 8oz.
After eight matches and dropping the worst result, Robin Cox leads with ten points followed by Charles with 13.
This weekend sees the annual open. The draw is at the Royal Oak between 8.30am and 9am.
Result: 1 Baz Morgan (Baz Angling) 14lb 8oz, 2 Jamie Rich (Against Men and Fish/Burt Baits) 11lb 14oz, 3 Justin Charles (Ilminster) 10lb 8oz.
