CHARD Darts League celebrated a successful summer season with a presentation night at The Phoenix.

A mixed threes competition was held at the event which featured eight teams.

The final was won by Greases Gang, made up of Dave and Diana Mears and Leighton Cox.

They beat The Clubbers represented by Gary Hill, Audrey Derham and Alan Derham.

The trophies were presented by league secretary Luke Lawrence and President Ian Scott.

League honours: Premier division winners – Barmy Lot; runners-up The Clubbers. First division winners – Madhouse Crew; runners-up Mighty Oaks.

Men’s singles winner – Nigel Druce; runner-up – Kevin Ayres. Women’s singles winner – Becky Genge; runner-up Zoe Hallett. The Shane Goodall Trophy was won by Dave Mears and Robin Cox.

The trophy was introduced this year in memory of one of the league’s most respected and prominent player for many years who lost his battle with cancer.

A recent pairs competition held at the Phoenix along with a couple of other events raised £400 which is being donated to the Beacon Centre at the Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
