ILMINSTER Town Ladies beat Cheltenham Civil Service 2-0 in the eastern division of the South West women's league.
In a fiercely contested match on the recreation ground, Ilminster probably had the best of the first half.
But with both teams defending well it was all level at the break after each side had a goal disallowed.
Ten minutes into the second half a long range shot from Sarah Miller nestled into the bottom corner to give town the lead.
This spurred Cheltenham on. They went close from a free kick and then hit the bar from a penalty.
But Ilminster dug in and were rewarded with a second goal when player-of-the-match Sarah Roxburgh scored direct from a corner.
That settled the issue as Ilminster held out well thanks to an excellent team performance.
