CHARD bounced back to form to claim their second win in four outings with a 3-2 victory over Winsombe 2nds in the West Clubs women's league.
After heavy battling in the early stages of the match a top D strike from Ruth Butcher secured Chard’s lead.
A second week, a second penalty meant Chard came off at half time with the scores at 1-1.
After an encouraging team talk from Hannah McGown at half time Chard came back on to the pitch looking revitalised.
Ruth Butcher quickly took the lead for Chard again with another top D strike.
This was shortly followed by an effortless reverse stick shot from Rachel Ireland-Jones securing Chard's lead.
Despite excellent defending, especially from player-of-the- match Lorraine Szczepanski, Winscombe claimed a second.
But Chard held on for a deserved victory.
