WAYNE Loveridge of Chard Road Runners dipped under 17 minute marker for the first time when finishing 18th in the year’s last midweek Yeovilton 5K.

Richard Cave, building up his fitness following injury, also went close to his personal best having run in a marathon the weekend before.

Maria Wadey led the ladies home and Son Louis secured an excellent PB with some great running while Vicky Musselwhite also secured a new mark.

Next up for the Runners was the Hangers Heroes Marathon near Weymouth on Saturday.

Against a strong field of 30 Jeremy Taylor secured a tremendous victory with Bernie Genge – running his 58th marathon – a healthy seventh Obviously one marathon was not enough for these two Runners who went on to contest the Purbeck Marathon on Sunday.

The 46-year-old Taylor was 18th out of 400 while Genge came in a little behind having helped a collapsed runner.

Richard Cave covering some real hilly miles in the Truro Half marathon where he finished 112th out of 441 in 1hr 42m 09s.
