AN Ilminster men’s triple has stormed through to the national finals at Leamington Spa next month.

Matt Hamilton, Steve Turner and Louis Ridout earned their place with massive 22-4 victory over a Street triple skipped by J Murphy.

All the men’s Somerset league teams were back in action last week with the A team winning 67-40 at Knowle and collecting 11 of the 12 points in the process The victory lifts Ilminster into second place in the Premier 1.

The B team went back to the top of South West 1 with a convincing win at home to North Petherton B by 83 shots to 45. Ilminster gained a maximum 12 Points.

Ilminster C were unable to ensure a trio of victories after a 64-57 defeat by Watchet B, also in South West 1.

Last Thursday Ilminster Men played the last of this season’s Two Counties fixtures with a home match against Crewkerne.

They won three of the four rinks and by 82 shots to 64.
