CHARD entertained Crewkerne in grey and overcast conditions but cheered themselves by winning by three games to one and by 75 shots to 49 overall.

On Thursday it was beautifully sunny when Chard visited Bridport but they lost 3-1 and 86-49 on shots.

On Sunday Castle Cary were welcomed by blue skies but during the team interval the weather changed completely and the match was finally abandoned after five more ends.

As the match finished early the Castle Cary bowlers were introduced to the Short Mat version of the game which they seemed to enjoy.
