THREE of Somerset's brightest young prospects have been selected in the England squad for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Banton, batsman Fin Trenouth and all-rounder Tom Lammonby have all received call-ups following their impressive performances during the recent tour of South Africa.

Former Gloucestershire and England seamer Jon Lewis, who will coach the squad for the tournament, said: “I’ve been receiving regular reports of the team’s progress in South Africa from Richard Dawson and the other coaches, and I’m really looking forward to joining the squad ahead of the World Cup.”
David Graveney, who is on the selection panel, added: “We have really benefited from the flexibility permitted by selecting a number of over-age players for the Super-4s competition for the country’s outstanding Under-17s this summer, which allowed a couple of Under-18s such as Savin Perera and Fin Trenouth to put in the performances that have led to their selection in the World Cup squad."
The squad will be captained by Yorkshire's Harry Brook, and the side will play two warm-up matches before their first group game against Namibia in Queenstown on January 15.
England then line up against Bangladesh on January 18 and Canada on January 20, both also in Queenstown.
