WHAT a remarkable game this was with Chard looking down the barrel at half time when they were left trailing in the wake of their visitors by 29pts-5pts.
A damage limitation exercise looking to be the order of the day in the second half. But an inspirational talk from skipper Clive Adams at half time rejuvenated Chard and outstanding winger Stuart Gold set the tone by scoring two more tries to add to the one he got in the first half.
Futher tries came from newcomer Jack Hardy who had an excellent game and was named man of the match by Adams. Gold added a penalty and three conversions for a personal tally of 24pts.
As well as Hardy and Gold Fowards Ryan Knight and Nick Pool also got a special mention from Adams.
Next Saturday the 3rds are away against Wellington 3rds – kick-off at 2 30pm.
