THE Holyrood Academy Under-13s girls rugby squad got their season off to a flying start recently, by beating a team from Sidmouth College 35-10.

Some great rugby was played despite the muddy conditions, and player of the match was Heidi Warren – but there were some outstanding performances all around from the Holyrood side.

ON January 30, Holyrood Academy hosted the Chard primary cluster Years 3 and 4 Tag Rugby competition.

Six schools competed for the title and, after some excellent rugby, Redstart emerged victorious from the event.

The matches were well refereed by Holyrood’s Year 10 Sports Leaders, and all games were played in great spirit.

Redstart scored an amazing 55 tries in their five games, with the standout performers being Oliver Turnbull, Rhys Jenkins and Harry Appleton.
