THIS was a tough fixture last year, but with another good squad of 14 players hopes were high.

Chard started off well with a good wide pass from Harry Clifford to Craig Jakeman with a try placed in the corner. Honiton struck back with a couple of tries, before Charlie Clifford got two tries, showing some great pace.

The first half finished 7-4 to Chard with two tries for Jack Chapillon and two more from Craig Jakeman. In the second half Chard rang the changes, but dominated the half with running in eight tries with no reply from Honiton.

Two tries from Craig Jakeman, two from Ollie Lowe, two from Jack Chapilllon with two individual tries from George Bromfield and Jake Nicholas crowned a fine display. A special mention to Kieran Leake for some great tackling.

Both coaches were pleased with the improvement in tackling but particularly in the passing.
