LATE withdrawals did not help Chard but they played well in the first half with impressive front row forward Ben Robinson crossing for a try which gave Chard a 5-3 lead at the break.
In the second half Clevedon were more of a cohesive unit than Chard and pulled away to win the match comfortably.
However Chard have plenty to offer in this league and as they come to terms with playing at a higher level they are more than capable of holding their own. This Saturday the team is playing at Wells.
The following week they entertain North Petherton 2nds.
