AFTER the cancellation of last Monday's fixture due to the snow, play at Cricket St Thomas Golf Club resumed on Wednesday with a three-man Bowmaker tournament.
Twenty-one Seniors took to the course in favourable but wet conditions, and the temporary greens ensured that the stableford scoring would be high.
This proved to be the case, as the winners returned a score of 91 points, which was three better than their nearest rivals.
Scores
1. Peter Spencer-Farr; Robin Flower & Chris Hiam - 91 points
2. Roger Hinds; Frank Martin & Eric Williams - 88 points
3. Richard Forster; Maurice Arnold & Mike Hone - 85 points
On Thursday, the Seniors match team travelled to Bridport for their second match of the season.
After a promising start, when captain Barrie Heath and Peter Spencer-Farr won the opening game, things did not go their way, and the Saints could not win another game as the hosts took control.
A half in game four was their only other success, as Bridport won 4½-1½.
Scores
Barrie Heath & Peter Spencer-Farr won by 4 & 2
Alan Chance & John Twose lost by 4 & 3

On Friday, 16 teams entered a fourball better ball competition.
Once again, the conditions were favourable and scoring better than average.
The team of Alan Davis and Richard Agar proved far too strong for the rest of the field, taking the honours with a healthy score of 49 points – a three-point margin of victory.
