Chard Road Runners

WITH many races cancelled due to the Beast from the East 2, the sequel, Axe Valley Runners took the decision to call off the main event – a 20-mile fell race from Seaton around the valleys bogs and beaches of the Jurassic coast.

As the race has attracted national and international attention, many runners were already in the area, so an alternative race of 10.5 miles was offered.

With an amber weather warning in place, Chard Road Runners made individual decisions as to whether or not to make the trip.

In short, 11 club members were part of the 1,267 runners who braved the elements, running across clifftops in blizzard conditions, giving much respect to the marshals.
