CHARD Road Runners were out supporting the Combe St Nicholas 10k.
Heading off into the hills around Combe, the pace for CRRs was set by Simon Hall.
Close on his heels was the consistent Gary Wheaton who pushed ahead of Helen Baxter. Baxter was really showing her mettle, having raced the 20 mile ‘Grizzly’ the previous Sunday.
Next there was a battle to the line with Matt Baker pipping Phil Hodson by just four seconds.
Running buddies Mel Boarder and Vicky Musselwhite supported each other to a fine finish with a determined run up through the last hill section before the finish.
Running a 10k is obviously not hard enough for Lindsey Quinlan and Maria Wadey. Quinlan deciding to push her daughter around in a running pushchair and Wadey supported her having ran 16 miles the day before.
Chan Chant was last across the line for the Runners demonstrating great persistence.
