ILMINSTER AA held the final match of the V.E.S Precision league on the Isle on Sunday and once again the Hambridge section produced some great weights despite atrocious weather.

The winner was Justin Charles with a lovely net of quality roach, chub and perch for 25lb 5oz from H4.

Charles also enjoyed a bumper payday as it was a golden peg.

Second place went to Paul Homewood with 24lb 1oz of mainly roach on the whip and caster and in third place was Robin Cox with another net of roach weighing 18lb 12oz from peg H2.

The league was won by Graham Field with 13 points followed by Robin Cox on 14 and Martin Heard on 15.

A club spokesman said: “We would like to say a massive thanks to V.E.S. Precision for their continued support and sponsorship, it really is appreciated.

“And thanks again to Steve and Cindy at the Royal Oak, Ilminster for putting up with us and also to Robin Cox for organising another great league.
