ILMINSTER AA members fished round two of the V.E.S. Precision league on the river at Isle Brewers and Cox’s Bridge.

Conditions were fairly mild although the river was running low and clear.

Apart from the leading weights the fishing was hard going for the majority but all 12 anglers caught fish.

Barry Morgan fished his first match on the river for a long time and came out on top with 11lb 10oz of dace, chublets and trout from peg 17, he was also on the golden peg and took home that pot as well.

Match organiser Rob Cox was second with a similar net weighing 7lb 9oz from peg 15. Jamie Rich filled the final frame place with 4lb 4oz from peg 122.

The next fixture is on Sunday, November 9 with the draw is at the Royal Oak between 8.30am and 9am.
