EXETER Racecourse has come to the rescue of trainers desperate to run their horses by staging an additional fixture tomorrow (Tuesday).
The recent storms have left many courses waterlogged, resulting in a reduced fixture list and leaving trainers with very few options to run their horses.
General manager Tim Darby said: “The race calendar has been greatly reduced in recent weeks due to the high rainfall so we are delighted to stage this additional fixture.
“It’s been a very tricky time for trainers with so few opportunities to run their horses due to the extreme weather and we are only too pleased to help them out.”
The first race comes under starters’ orders at 12.45pm with entry costing £10.
Seven races are on the card and gates open at 11.45pm.
