Trent-Alexander Arnold has shed more light on the fun and games England have been enjoying in their hotel pool by revealing unicorn-racing is just one of several activities.

Jesse Lingard posted a series of pictures of the players on social media on Wednesday which included one of himself, Harry Maguire, Jordan Pickford and Kieran Trippier racing across the pool on inflatable unicorns.

It seems spirits are certainly high after that opening win over Tunisia and boredom is yet to set in at the training base in Repino.

“That’s just the type of camp we’re in, full of joy and laughter,” said right-back Alexander-Arnold. “We’re happy with how it’s going.

“There’s different types of games in the swimming pool every day just to liven it up a bit. It was water basketball today.

“The lads enjoy it because if you just keep getting in the pool every day it gets a bit repetitive. The staff behind the scenes are doing well keeping us all entertained.”

It remains unclear, however, who actually won the unicorn race.
