ALTHOUGH the scoreline suggest a good win for Chard, they were made to work hard for it by Cheddar who gave them a good game in the West Women’s League.
Chard started well, having most of the play in Cheddar’s half, but fine saves from the host's keeper kept Chard at bay until midway through when Lyndsay Blackshaw manage to break the deadlock.
Chard’s tally was doubled soon after a fine run and stike by Elizabeth Sterland.
At the start of the second half, Chard’s defence was under pressure, but stand-in keeper Alice Turnock made some fine saves to keep Cheddar out.
Chard stepped up the pace which resulted in another goal for Blackshaw and then Sarah McDermott got Chard's fourth.
Chard have one more game left to play to wrap up a good season in Sedgmoor One after winning promotion last saeson.
Thanks to Chris Long for traveling with the team to umpire and match sponsors Top Togs.
