CHARD lost 4-3 at Torbay in South East 1 of the Davis Wood league on the back of two victories which brought them a total of 15 goals.

heir confident mood was soon dented as Torbay turned out to be far more useful than the first time they met and took the lead within the first ten minutes.

Chard replied with a great individual goal from Bertie Squire who beat two defenders before spinning round the keeper for a quality finish.

With both teams intent on taking the three points the game was very intense and somewhat fiery at times.

Torquay got the next goal and went into the break 2-1 up.

Chard Came back out determined how ever it was Torbay who grabbed the next goal.

Tempers were flaring on the pitch and Liam Murphy was green carded for an outburst.

Chard upped the pressure and enjoyed plenty of possession.

However after another outburst from Murphy they were reduced to ten with Murphy receiving a yellow card and subsequently calling it a day and going home.

Luckily Chard had travelled with a good sized s quad and Kyle Wheaton came on to replace the absent Murphy when his time in the sin was up.

This proved crucial as Wheaton got the next goal for Chard on the rebound from a short corner. Wheaton controlled it and put a reverse shot past the keeper.

After this it was end to end stuff. When the airbound ball came off the keeper Matt Sheahan found himself at the back post to knock it in on the bounce for the equaliser.

Chard played with real fire and determination however Torbay got the winner from a penalty corner with the last play of the game despite some great keeping from Rich Green and determined defending from Crease, Lewis and Green.
