CHARD Ladies were denied victory in their final Sunday match of the season when Beaminster came from behind to draw 2-2.

Chard defenders Emma Wyatt, Becky Black and Sue Stoker were put under pressure from the start.

But backed up by solid keeping from Charlie Carver-Bale they survived the initial onslaught.

Midfielders Hannah Billing, Rosie Winch and Katie Lee worked hard to move the ball forward.

And after determined play in the opposition D from Charlotte Mooney, it was Georgia Caird who got the final touch for the first goal.

Boosted by this, Chard attacked in numbers. And with Michelle Allen and Ros Clemmans spreading the ball to both flanks, Billing found space to storm through and again find Caird on the post to score Chard’s second.

Beaminster fought back with skill and strength, scoring two superb goals to gain a share of the honours.
