Chard Sunday Ladies lost 11-1 at home to Taunton Vale 5ths this morning.
Taunton’s superior passing and strength on the ball proved to be Chard's undoing.
Chard took a while to settle their formation, allowing the visitors to go 3-0 up in the first ten minutes.
Strong full-backs Emma Wyatt and Becky Black did their best to thwart the opposition onslaught and at times the home team looked capable of giving Vale a run for their money.
However Chard’s only goal came from a solid attacking move from Lois Butcher whose pass sliced through the defence to find a waiting Hannah Billing on the post.
Despite such a heavy defeat it Chard stuck to their task and continued to battle right to the final whistle.
Umpires: Chris Long and Vince Sharpe.
