AN action-packed game played in sunshine saw goals come thick and fast as Chard Sunday ladies lost 9-5 at Minehead.

Minehead battered Chard’s defence and goalie Lou Bentley made several excellent saves before the visitors broke the deadlock with two goals in quick succession from Georgia Caird.

Good team work and some skillful passing between Hannah Billing and Ros Clemmans produced many such opportunities so it was a credit to Mineheads determination that they fought back to first equalize and then pull ahead with two more good goals before half time.

Chard came out fighting and with Maya Preston, E.J Hines and Emma Wyatt distributing from midfield.

And it wasn’t long before the team’s effort paid off with Becky Black confidently converted two chances to bring the score to 4-4.

However Minehead then upped a gear and their following onslaught resulted in them scoring a further five excellent goals.

To their credit Chard never gave up and Black completed her hat-trick to round off a memorable match.
