CHARD Town travel to second-placed Roman Glass St George on Saturday without several first team regulars in the First Division of the Toolstation Western League (ko 3pm).

Chard have already beaten the Bristol side on their 3G pitch this season in the Les Phillips Cup, but Roman Glass have signed half-a-dozen new players since then and are flying high in the league.

Missing from the Chard squad are goalkeeper Jon Hill, defender Andy Holmes and striker James Boyland, while Alex Stafie and Tauofik Ben Salem are suspended.

Recent signing Elliott Bevis, on a dual registration with Gillingham, is also unavailable.

On the plus side, Ollie Pearson should be back, as should Steve Friend who missed the Warminster game with ‘flu.

With cover ‘keeper Stu Parris also out, Down has signed experienced stopper Jamie Stewart as cover for Saturday.

Chard Reserves are at home to Alphington Reserves (ko 3pm).

ILMINSTER Town’s Somerset County Premier/Division 1 League cup last 16 match away at Shirehampton was a victim of the bad weather on weekend and the match now rolls on to this Saturday (ko 2pm).

The Reserves are home against third in the table and Dawlish-based Black Swan Town at the Archie Gooch Pavilion (ko 2.15pm)

On Saturday, the Reserves, with a sickness bug in the camp, managed to field a side but went down 8-0 at Exeter Central, who they had beaten 2-1 the previous week.

Central were much stronger with striker Darren Lampitt leading the line, scoring a hat-trick and proving the big difference between the sides.
