CHARD Town start a run of three successive Saturday away matches with a trip to Warminster in Division 1 of the Toolstation Western League tomorrow (ko 3pm).

Warminster, who beat Chard 2-0 on the opening day of the season, are currently third from bottom.

Chard go into the Warminster game without suspended strikers Taoufik Ben Salem and Alex Stafie, but welcome back Matt Howell and Jack Dicker.

With left-back Ollie Pearson also out, Chard manager Paul Down will be hoping Dave Duarte will be available.

Down said: “We now enter a difficult period with three away games and several suspensions and unavailability.

“It is going to be a testing few weeks, starting with Warminster on their own ground.

"We have not been beaten in the league since September, and will be looking to extend our seven-match unbeaten league run.”

Reflecting on last Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Portishead, Down said: “It was another three points and a good performance, and Portishead played their part in an entertaining game.

“We had to make changes in central midfield, which took time to bed in, but we carried a threat throughout the 90 minutes.”

There is football at Zembard Lane tomorrow, as Chard Reserves have a local derby against their Wellington counterparts in Division 1 of the Macron Devon & Exeter League (ko 3pm).

ILMINSTER Town’s first team are back in action after a weekend off, in the last 16 of the Somerset County Premier/Division 1 League Cup.

The side have been drawn away and will be certainly looking to gain revenge for their recent 4-3 defeat at home to Shirehampton, who are the opponents again tomorrow.

With the Reserves away as well, Kenny Timpson and his table-topping young A team have the chance to show their talent, as they are home at the Archie Gooch Pavilion against Chard Rangers Reserves (ko 2pm).

ON Sunday, Ilminster Town Ladies will be hoping it will be second time lucky against Charlestown Ladies, as last weekend's game was postponed.

This weekend sees them host the reverse fixture at the Archie Gooch Pavilion (ko 2pm).

Ilminster are eighth in the South West Women's Premier Division standings, with Charlestown ninth.
