ILMINSTER Town Football Club capped off a successful 2016/17 season with their presentation evening at the Archie Gooch Pavilion on May 20.

More than 150 players and guests saw MP Marcus Fysh present some of the silverware, including the Somerset County Division 1 West trophy, won by the men’s 1st XI, collected by team captain Jonny May.

Reserves skipper Luke Paul was presented with the Devon and Exeter Division 7 champions trophy.

Ilminster Town Ladies striker Shannon Crouch won the Alan Martin Young Player of the Year award (presented by Alan’s daughter Wendy Bird), and Matt ‘Chuckie’ Rowswell received the Trump Trophy for Clubman of the Year, presented by Gary Trump.

Darren Manley and Andy Fish were also recognised for long-standing loyalty to the club, while more good news came for Steve Rowswell (first team referees assistant), who took the most points awarded by referees during the Somerset County Division 1 West season.
