ILMINSTER Town will be looking to maintain their impressive home form in the Saturday county league tomorrow when they entertain Frome Collegians (3pm).

Last Saturday the Blues recorded a second successive 1-0 victory – this time at the expense of high-flying Watchet Town.

The Blues suffered a blow in more sense than one when Charlie Rutter left the field with a head injury midway through the first half.

But within five minutes they were in front. Craig Stuckey won a good tackle in midfield and fed Taylor Jefferson who finished nicely.

Rutter’s replacement, Simon Manley, dropped back into midfield to give the Blues more solidity but keeper Wayne Lewis needed to pull off a good save to prevent an equaliser before half time.

Watchet began the second half strongly, and Lewis was required to pull off three more really good saves.

But Ilminster gradually tightened things up to secure another three points.

After a glut of goals in their run of away matches earlier in the season the Blues have now conceded just two goals in five home matches.

Player/manager Darren Manley said: “We are now working really hard as a team and enjoying the results that come with it.”
