SHEPTON Beauchamp continued their unbeaten start to the season in the Premier Division with a comprehensive 9-1 victory at Misterton, writes Ian Hallett.

The visitors stormed into a seven goal interval lead and despite making a number of changes for the second half ran out easy winners.

Dan Smith netted a hat-trick in the rout, while Dan Peach and Aaron Sweet struck a brace each.

The total was completed by Ben Pitman and an own goal. Neil Hawkins hit Misterton’s consolation effort.

Newly-promoted South Petherton suffered a narrow 4-3 home defeat by Crewkerne Town.

Adam Dawe put Town ahead in the opening minute, but it was all-square four minutes later when Jody Bovey levelled the scores.

Dawe regained the lead for Crewkerne before a double from Dave John earned them a 4-1 advantage with 12 minutes remaining.

Pethy pushed men forward in the closing stages and strikes by Lee Richards and Dan Rendell brought them close to gaining their first point of the campaign.

Three goals by Jay Stewart put Perry Street on the way to a 5-1 triumph at Beaminster where Josh Singleton was on target for the hosts. Brad Cleal and Freddie Holley were Street’s other marksmen.

Jack Lamb-Wilson gave Lyme Regis Reserves an early lead against Combe St Nicholas Reserves. But the Somerset outfit were ahead at the half way stage after a goal apiece from Simon Vincent and Tom Shire.

In the second half Combe moved up a gear to record a 6-1 verdict with further goals from Shire (penalty), Neil Parsons, Stuart Bicknell and Jordan Allen.

Division One side Barrington were the days top scorers as they reached double figures by beating visitors Pymore 10-1.

Once Guy Dare gave the home side the lead there was no stopping them. Andy Whitefield found the net four times, while Thomas Perry struck twice.

Dare then added his second of the afternoon and there were singles for Paul Oliver and Sam Spurway.

Kamil Wilk bagged three goals for Chard United who took their second maximum points of the week by beating Farway United 6-2.

Stuart Packer contributed two goals to the winners total that was completed by a Lee Hames single.

Netherbury went down by the odd goal in three when they entertained Winsham United.

Tom Stead gave United the lead from the penalty spot midway through the first half after Sam Symes had been brought down inside the area.

And it was Stead who extended the advantage when he scored from close range following a mistake by the Ambers keeper. Pete Ellingham reduced the arrears with a goal in the 90th minute.

Forton Rangers got off the mark at the third attempt when Jake Hannis and Ryan Mushman hit a goal each in a 2-0 win at Luso-Chard.

There were two all-Dorset derby matches in Division Two. In the first, two goals by Adam Tanner kept Drimpton in pole position as they beat Beaminster Reserves 2-0.

In the other, Jon Legg netted twice for Waytown Hounds who defeated Charmouth 4-1. Jack Reeve struck the losers’ consolation, while the winners’ tally was completed by Nat Bowditch and Ethan Guppy.

Crewkerne Town Reserves made it two wins from two starts as Paul Gold (2) and Kieran Adams scored in a 3-0 victory at Combe A.

Kingsbury took over top spot in Division Three after a 4-0 win against Hawkchurch.

Jake Russell was on target twice for the winners who also had Giles McGilvray (penalty) and Ben Norman getting their names on the scoresheet.

Goals by Bryan Garrett, Gary Parsley, John Mason and Karl Smith earned Thorncombe Reserves a 4-2 win at Shepton Beauchamp Reserves where Jordan Brain and Tom Brister notched a goal apiece for the home side.

Chard Rangers held Barrington Reserves to a 3-3 draw and may have taken their first maximum points of the season had it not been for some excellent stops by Barrington glove man Johnny Brister.

Tom Warren (2) and Max Patch found the net for Rangers, with Luke Woodard, Tom Butler and Rhudi Martin replying.

A Jamie Brown treble helped Chard United Reserves to a 6-3 verdict at Millwey Rise Reserves where Sam Burke, Matt Beechey and Nathan Land found the net for the hosts.

Ian Wells-Burr (2) and an own goal added to the visitors’ tally.

Strikes by Barry Hayne, Lewis Fisher and Adam Swinnerton couldn’t save Merriott Dynamos from a second league defeat as they were beaten by the odd goal in seven at South Petherton Reserves.

Ashley Wigmore was on target twice for the winners whose other goals came from Jimmy Rees and Matt Derby.

Combe B head Division Four following a 4-2 win at Crewkerne Rangers Reserves.

There were two goals for Neil Reed with Combe’s other strikes coming from Graham Cleal and Ian Banfield. Rangers replied through Elliott Greed and Aaron Hole.

After two consecutive relegations and finishing last season in the league’s basement position, things are beginning to look much brighter for Hinton St George who held on to second spot by recording a 6-2 victory at Farway United Reserves.

Danny Baker and Ross Jewell hit two goals each for the winners who also had Kenny Forbes and Ian Bambury finding the net.

Reformed Merriott Rovers could be the team to watch in this division after they put in a good performance in beating Winsham United Reserves 4-1.

Matt Lawrence gave Merriott a 19th minute lead, but this was cancelled out by a Danny Slade goal on the stroke of half time.

Merriott regained the advantage twenty minutes into the second half when Ash Rockett steered the ball past his own keeper and victory was assured as they added further goals from Danny Rudge and Ricky Smith.

Chard United All Stars came out on top in the clash of the two new teams as they enjoyed a 4-3 win at Drimpton Reserves.

The evergreen Paul Male scored one of the Chard goals and he was joined by Ben McCaffrey, Steve Barnes and Steve Eagan. Drimpton’s marksmen were Josh Betts (2) and Paul Jordan.

The two remaining fixtures failed to get underway when the reserve sides of Forton and Misterton failed to raise a side.
