SOMERSET’S County Championship clash with Warwickshire was disrupted by the weather again on day two, with only 6.1 overs played.
No play was possible until 2.45pm, when Warwickshire resumed on 93-3 at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
But only 6.1 overs later, with the visitors on 124-3 (Jonathan Trott 50* and Sam Hain 19*), bad light and further rain caused the match to be halted once more.
A pitch inspection was scheduled for 4.45pm, but play was abandoned for the day at 5pm.
With both teams struggling at the start of the Division 1 season, it looked a vital match for Somerset to try kick-start their four-day campaign.
But there’s only been one winner in Taunton – the rain.
