SOMERSET'S young paceman Jamie Overton says he is thrilled to have been selected for the England Lions for their five match T20 International series against Pakistan A in Dubai, which got underway today.

Overton did not feature in the Lions’ seven-wicket defeat to Pakistan A, the first T20i of the series – but the 21-year-old, from North Devon said: “Yeah I’m really excited to be included in the Lions squad and looking forward to playing my part in the squad to try and beat the Pakistan team in their own conditions.

“However we know it's going to be tough, but we all feel like we can win the five match series.”

“We have been fairly busy since we've arrived here.

"There has been plenty of bowling and lots of batting.

“I have been working on wobble seams and swinging the white ball and everything is going to plan at the moment so I am very happy with the way things out going.”

Talking about his performances in the three warm up games, all of which were against UAE, Jamie said: “I have played in all of the warm up games and bowled well in all of them.

“I took three wickets in the first game which we won.

“In the second game I didn't get any wickets but still bowled well. We tied the game but lost in a super over.

“Then the last game we won and I had two wickets in that game.”
