THE Somerset Cricket Board is running a Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course at the Centre of Excellence on October 14 between 6pm and 9pm.
The course is intended for all Club Welfare Officers and Coaches who must attend this course every three years to update their qualification.
The course will raise the awareness of tell-tale signs of abuse.
In addition the course will give attendees the tools and confidence required to deal with issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in a club or coaching environment.
Existing coaches who are required to update their Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate will have the option of completing the existing SPC course, or registering for the new ECB Online E learning Safeguarding Young Cricketers course.
For further details or to register for this course contact Brian Hoyle at the SCB brian.hoyle@somersetcricketboard.org
