ILMINSTER clinched the Baker Cup for the third time in the club's history last night at the County Ground in Taunton with a 36-run win over arch rivals Chard.

Ilminster won the toss and skipper Sam Spurway elected to bat and after a slow start they eventually posted a total of 138-5.

Spurway himself finished undefeated on 93 not out - which would later earn him the man-of-the-match award.

Chard started brightly in reply and were in contention until the opening wicket fell in the eighth over when Rob Glentworth went for 26 with the score on 39, off the bowling of Gary Larcombe.

Glentworth was soon joined back in the pavilion later that same over when fellow opener Joel Seward was bowled and from then on Chard were in problems.

They were eventually bowled out for 102 in the final over.
