ILMINSTER batsmen Johnny Hurford and Louis Kraucamp set a record 217-run partnership in the 20-over SCB Major Cup competition last week.

Ilminster batted first against local rivals Chard and posted 223-5, with four wickets falling in the final over.

Hurford and Kraucamp added 217, the second highest partnership in the club’s history, before Hurford fell for 105 in the 19th over.

Kraucamp was run out for 104 at the end of the final over.

The Chard reply was 119-8 and only Emlyn Kuhn with 50 made any impression as Ilminst romped to a 104-run win.

A feature of the Chard reply was the superiority of the Ilminster fielding with a number of excellent catches held in the deep.
