CHARD Sunday A entertained a strong Taunton St Andrews team in the Taunton and District League looking to continue their run of victories.
The away team won the toss and elected to bat and began strongly.
Chard never dominated with the ball as the Taunton outfit scored 241-5 from their 40 overs, centred around 130 by Lloyd Alley. There were Chard wickets for Richard Scott, Joel Tratt, Andrew Clancy and Andrew Haste.
In reply, Chard never really got up with the rate and were 51-4 after 9 overs.
A partnership of 101 between Clancy (59) and Tratt (57) put Chard in a position to accelerate towards the away sides total, but when both were out, hope went.
Chard were eventually out for 171 and will hope to get back to winning ways next weekend.
