ILTON suffered a comprehensive nine-wicket defeat at Midsomer Norton on Saturday in the Somerset division of the WEPL.
Norton won the toss and decided to bowl and soon had Ilton in all sorts of trouble with openers Dan Brunt and Joffy Williams back in the hutch to leave them on 3-2.
Paul Oliver and Dave Bulloch steadied the Ilton ship, but once Oliver went for 35 at 60-3, wickets fell quickly and Bulloch was the final wicket to go with him having just made his half-century. Ilton were all out for 104.
Norton were well on their way to victory when Damian Price grabbed the wicket of opener Chris Tabb. Fellow opener Jon Harvey and number three Martin Cox then steered their side home to victory in the 20th over.
Ilton will be looking to bounce back on Saturday when they play host to Street.
