STREET won the toss and elected to bat, and were restricted to 169-8 off their 45 overs. All the Chard side contributed to keeping their score relatively low given the good weather and conditions, but the pick of the bowlers was Andrew Sochon who bowled his 13 overs for just 27 runs and one wicket. Steve Dening and Jon Dalwood took three wickets each.
Chard were 68-4 at one stage, but sensible batting from captain Rob Glentworth (21 not out) and a magnificent innings of 118 not out by Dave Dyer saw Chard home by six wickets with over seven overs to spare.
WORKERS at Oscar Mayer in Chard are angry that the company is still advertising for new staff despite the threat of redundancy lingering over their heads.
