SIX teams played in Chard Bowling Club’s Milford & Dormor Afternoon League.
The Harlequins played out of their skins against an extremely good Magpies team. The Harlequins finished with 16 shots to the Magpies’ nine.
The Hurricanes played against Westway who were up against it when the Hurricanes scored five shots at one end. This was really the blow for Westway with the final scores being Hurricanes 17 shots, Westway 9 shots.
The Merriott Canaries played a closely fought game against East Coker, last year's winners, and almost beat them, but went down narrowly 15-18.
This has changed the league table around now with the Hurricanes and Harlequins both on 15 points, one behind the Greyhounds.
The Magpies now lie in fourth place but with a huge shot difference still. £ast Coker have now overtaken the Merriott Canaries with Westway still lying at the bottom.
Results: East Coker 18, Canaries 13; Magpies 9, Harlequins 16; Westway 9, Hurricans 17.
