ILMINSTER Bowling Club played in the Mixed Somerset and Devon League at Taunton Deane.

In a very close game, going to the last wood, Ilminster won by two shots 37-35.

Ilminster Rinks: Des Maull, Cliff Whelan, Dot Whelan and June Checketts 31 T Phippen 15. Lyn Williams, Heather Sims, Andy Williams and Barry Sims 6 JMerchant 20.

On Saturday, Ilminster played a mixed friendly against Chardstock. After a very enjoyable game Ilminster came out winners 70-53.
