ILMINSTER Ladies are through to the next round of the Yetton Trophy after beating Taunton Deane 83-69.

The winning run enjoyed by the club’s Over-60s men ended with a 43-26 defeat by Street.

In the Somerset and Devon mixed league Ilminster lost 47-25 to Taunton BC.

On Sunday Ilminster lost 39-35 at Bridgwater in the Somerset and Devon league.

n In the Milford and Dormer mixed triples at Chard it looked like Harlequins were about to be beaten for the first time this year when they trailed 8-1 against Magpies after five ends.

But they staged a major fightback, taking four of the next five ends to lead 14-9.

The teams then shared the next four ends and the match finished 16-11 in Harlequins’ favour.

Meanwhile Greyhounds’ persistence paid off as they claimed their first win of the season, beating Hurricanes 11-10. Greyhounds lost the first five ends but fought back strongly and were just one shot down going into the final end.

They finished with a two shot success to taken the match 11-10.
