IN the Milford and Dormor league at Chard the two leading teams both lost.

Third-placed Greyhounds played second-placed Royals.

Royals went into the lead at first but after 7 ends it was all square at 5-5.

Then Greyhounds went into the lead but after 12 ends it was again level at eight shots each.

Finally Greyhounds took four shots on the penultimate end and Royals could only manage one on the last.

Greyhounds took the game by 12-9.

Leaders Harlequins took on Magpies who are starting to work their way up the table.

After seven ends Harlequins were leading 7-5 but Magpies then had a couple of good ends – taking three and four shots – which left Harlequins playing catch-up.

Their efforts came to nothing however Magpies won 15-12.

Canaries against Hurricanes was a tale of two halves.

Canaries flew into the lead, being 9-1 up after eight ends, but could only manage to win one more end, finally losing 10-12.

The top three places are unchanged, but Greyhounds are closing and Magpies are hot on their heels.
