ON a lovely Easter Sunday afternoon and in front of a large crowd, top of the league Keynsham came to Ilminster having only conceded one goal all season and scoring 130.
The first-half was a very close contest with Ilminster matching Keynsham in every department.
Ilminster had the better of the chances and twice hit the bar, but it was 0-0 at half-time and a fair reflection of the game.
The second half saw Keynsham come out strong and cause Ilminster a few problems in the early stages but the home defence held firm.
Chances came and went for both sides but with 15 minutes to go Keynsham broke the deadlock with a well taken goal.
This spurred Ilminster on to a frantic last ten minutes pushing forward, but they just could not break the Keynsham defence as they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat.
This was an excellent team performance from the Ilminster Ladies who well and truly earnt their Easter eggs, with winger Lesley Spearing and keeper Abbi Bond being singled out as players of the game.
