YEOVIL Town fell out of the Somerset Premier Cup last night with a 1-0 Quarter-Final defeat at Clevedon Town.
The only goal of the game came in the second minute through Ashley Kington with a 25-yard drive which beat Yeovil keeper Gareth Stewart.
The Yeovil side was very much a Reserve XI with a host of youth team players involved, but there were also more experienced players with npower League One experience such as Stewart, Curtis Haynes-Brown, Billy Gibson and Anthony Edgar, while new signing Michael Woods, once of Chelsea and Leeds United, also started.
The Premier Cup may not be at the top of Yeovil’s priority list in any season, but to go out at Clevedon – with no disrespect intended – is an embarrassing defeat.
